Ct5: Last run finally shipping, next run offered

I am now taking the balance payments for the September 2015 pre orders. You can find the link in our tictail store or go directly here. I have sent notification to everyone via email but if you did not get one, but you made a preorder, you can simply go to the store and pay the balance.

I also opened more preorders at the same time. You can find that in the store as well or go directly here.

  1. Hey I just preordered, and in the "yes Im finally getting ct5" -rush I didn't check your shipping info. I also didin't find any contact email, so I'll ask here: living in finland, what are my options of shipping and how much will it approx be? Thank you in advance.

  2. Hi,

You can email me directly at mtl.asm@gmail.com. You have 2 shipping options, both take about the same time but 1 has tracking. they are 25/40 usd.

  3. Are these limited run? How many units made?

    ReplyDelete
  4. @anon
There is a limit to how many orders I will take, but this is typically more than the demand during pre orders.

  5. I'm in!
Man, been a long crazy ride from the GB24 prototype for this glorious box of extreme well-rounded weirdness for the sonic explorer in all of us wanting to rip it's way out of the mortal coil.
    IAMEXCITED.

  6. Are units shipping out in order of balance payment, as with the last run?

    ReplyDelete
  7. @anon

that is the general strategy, however compared to last time all the orders should ship in a more reasonable time frame so it is less of an issue.

  8. Great. You mentioned the pedals would start shipping within a couple days of receiving the PCBs. Has this started yet?

    ReplyDelete
  9. Are the pedals shipping yet?

  10. @anon, anon, Yes we have already started shipping on Weds Jan 27 as stated on the balance payment page.

We have several hundred packages so it may take a week or so to ship all of them.

    Thanks

  11. When shall we know if there are leftovers from the last batch for the new batch ?

  15. I'm anxiously awaiting mine as well. The message a few weeks ago said that we will be notified when our order ships. What will be the email address that notification comes from?

    Thanks!

    ReplyDelete
  16. Anon,

    it will come from mtl.asm@gmail.com.

tracking info from the day is usually entered around 10pm EST.

You will receive a notification even if you selected a method will no tracking.

  18. Hi,

I paid my pre-order in September and the final amount on Jan 24th but haven't received any shipping info or other contact aside from my receipts. Are we still waiting on initial ship outs for 2015 pre-orders that are fully paid? I'm getting concerned that something has happened with my order.

  19. Mike: I was in the same boat as you, and just got my shipment notification last night. Lots of boxes to send!

    ReplyDelete
  20. Actually, I paid my balance on Jan 23rd. :)

    ReplyDelete
  21. Great to hear! I've been patient the whole time because I knew the order size was huge and there were manufacturing delays. I just started to become concerned when I was approaching the 2 week mark without having heard anything. Given your experience I'll hold tight for a while longer and see what happens.

  22. Scott's email about how to make final payments was sent out at 3:49pm on January 23rd.

I paid my balance by 4:09pm on January 23rd and still have not received shipping notification.

  23. @Mike Orr

If it is Mike Orr from OR your pedal is packed to ship today, you should get notification tonight.

    @Feb 5 410pm Anon,

I find that unlikely since we have shipped over half the orders. Please send me an email or identify yourself. Most people paid within 12 hours of sending the email, but not 20 mins. Also about 20% of people also did not include any shipping payments, this has delayed some orders. However I can not identify you when you post as anon so please just send me an email.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Scott,

I wrote you an email that includes a copy of my proof of payment from PayPal.
That proof of payment was sent to me at 4:09pm on January 23rd.

  25. @anon 528

ok thanks, we will get back to you shortly.

    ReplyDelete
  26. This is Mike from Oregon. Thanks for the reply. I'm beyond excited about getting this pedal. Thanks for all your hard work!

    ReplyDelete
  27. @Mike,

No problem, thank you for your patience.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Maybe if 20% of people didn't pay for shipping your instructions were defective?

    ReplyDelete
  29. I think the shipping instructions were very straightforward.

On all the emails about this pedal it mentioned the price and that shipping was extra.
For the final checkout there was a series of options for paying shipping costs based
    on where you are located.

If people can't figure out where they are located—then that's a problem.

I think the 20% is people who were so excited they didn't really pay close attention
to the shipping options and blew right past it in their excitement. That's all.

    ReplyDelete
  30. I don't really know how these things work but...

For the people worried about receiving their pedal
it might have been nice if there was some sort of a
"take a number" system like they have at deli's.

If as part of my proof of payment I received a number,
then all mtl.asm would have had to do is post once saying
"we're shipping out numbers 1-50 today", etc. That way
they might not have to spend all their time answering
    specific questions about specific orders.

I think people's rabid excitement and enthusiasm about
the CT5 has led them to post a lot of "where's my pedal?"
stuff, particularly on some of the online guitar forums.
But it's not clear when any of those people submitted their
final payments or whether or not they included their shipping
payment. So the "example" of others (all in the dark) might
be ramping up everybody else's impatience.

And then people who paid early (my PayPal proof of purchase
was sent to me at 4:09pm on January 23rd) become unsure about
whether their patience will be rewarded or whether it is misguided.

  31. @SeaBee,

Good points and certainly some things to think about moving forward. The main reason I would say we do not do the deli system is that it creates and entire extra layer of work and will also result in about 500 more emails of people asking not just when things will ship but when their number will even come up etc.

It's extremely unlikely I will ever do a run this large of anything again so that in itself will resolve some of the timing issues, but thank you for your feedback.

    @Anon 6:54pm,

I think the shipping instructions were clear. The prices were advertised in the pre order announcement, and the balance page, and virtually every other media used. You can go through the checkout without paying again if you want to look at them again. Any constructive criticism is definitely welcome, but posting comments like that and hiding behind anon is somewhat ineffective. I think SeaBee's hypothesis is probably somewhat accurate and or the fact that "nothing to ship" is the default. In the future we will look to make the store select the shipping method based on the entered shipping address.

  33. Hey Scott! Thanks for all your hard work! This is just out of curiosity and by no means do I wish to rush you in this crazy time.
I was just wondering if you had recoved my payment and it had gone through, I paid for the shipping and balance by PayPal on 1/24 at 2:53pm. As for when I receive the pedal, I can wait patiently no problem :)
    Thanks again dude!

  38. Merely checking on the current shipping status here. It's been a little over two weeks since I submitted the remainder payment for my September pre-order (including international shipping).

No problem if you're still snowed under with all the orders, Scott. But I just wanted to see what the lead time on shipping was at the current time.

    TIA!!!

Don't worry you did not miss anything. But if you check, this post if from January 23, 2016. It is from when we started shipping the units ordered in September/October 2015.

We will ship the current batch around the end of April 2016 as stated on the pre order page/webstore.

Can you please contact me at jjm512 at hush dot com when you can?
